Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Artitex, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

Artitex is an AI-powered document editor that supports LaTeX, Markdown, AsciiDoc, and rich text editing with real-time PDF preview and AI writing assistance.

3. Account Registration

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You must be at least 16 years old to use the service
• One account per person; automated account creation is prohibited

4. Your Content

You retain full ownership of the documents and content you create on Artitex. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.

You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the service (including sending content to AI providers for AI-assisted features).

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Abuse AI features to generate harmful, deceptive, or illegal content
• Circumvent usage limits or credit restrictions
• Scrape, crawl, or automated-access the service without permission

6. Credits & Billing

• Free accounts receive a daily credit allocation that resets each day
• Paid plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe
• You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase (EU consumer right of withdrawal)
• Prices are displayed in USD and may vary; applicable taxes (including French VAT) are added at checkout

7. AI-Generated Content

Content generated by AI features is provided as-is. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying AI-generated content before use. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI outputs.

8. Availability & Warranties

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights under French or EU law.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by French law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

10. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
• Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by French law. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts in France. EU consumers may also use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect.
